Dennis Daugaard is governor of South Dakota today. He grew up near Dell Rapids and was a businessman and community leader in Sioux Falls. In 2003, he became executive director of the South Dakota Children’s Home Society. Dennis Daugaard was also a leader in the legislature for six years. In the state senate, he worked to help children and the disabled. He was also lieutenant governor for eight years. He helped the governor with special projects and was president of the state senate. His term is over in 2018.
